ROBIN AND TITO
By MABEL ROBINSON
Illustrated by ELOISE BURNS
When Robin was left alone in the villa, in "Growley's" care, she was a rather frail, lonely, child. The people of that little town in Sicily thought she was a boy, because of her "bob" and her "shorts;" but she didn't behave in the least like most boys. She saw a donkey, one day, who appealed to her as a possible playmate. Through wanting to know Tito, she became friends with his young owner, the gardener Bianca. They affected a great change in Robin before her parents returned.
Girls of about ten to twelve will enjoy Robin and Bianca and Tito, their fun and their hard work, Robin's adventure with the bandits, her trip to the caves with the fisherman, and her great adventure during the volcanic eruption; such incidents make it a good adventure story. Besides the book gives a charming picture of a place and people the author knew for many months. Little Robin comes to see them as she did with the greatest appreciation and friendliness.
